That horrible moment when one has a very strong inkling that fanfiction has ruined all future relationships that one may have. No one can be as perfect as the characters in a well written, fluffy, romantic fic.
Then you have that one moment, that perfect clarity moment, when you find someone else who understands.
You can make jokes about shipping wars and they’ll laugh, get into your own mini ship fights but still ‘awww’ and squee and giggle together at some gorgeous fanart.
You’ll spend hours reading out twitter feeds to each other, stalking through each others blogs just to find something new and being truly overwhelmed by everything you have in common.
You stay up late talking on skype, discussing fan theories, which soon dissolve into conversations about your lives outside the internet; work, friends, that park you sit in to read.
And soon you realise you love this person. This amazing, intelligent, beautiful person who fits into your life so well.
And then comes the angst part of the fic…
